Milestone Inspections are required by Florida Statute for all condominium structures that are 25 years of age and older and are three stories or more tall. A “Milestone Inspection” is the structural inspection of a building performed by a licensed architect or engineer. The purpose of a Milestone Inspection is to ensure a building’s safety through an assessment of its structural components and general structural condition. The initial Milestone Inspection must be performed before December 31, 2024, for all buildings of age.
Nick Lopez has brought expert precision and insight to many projects and programs since 2009 when he finished his graduate degree in Civil-Structural Engineering. He has worked as a structural engineer on several mid-rise commercial office builds, contributed to the seismic retrofit industries, completed countless residential projects for owners & has done cause & origin investigations in over 150 cases within the Forensic Engineering litigation support space since Hurricane Ian impacted Florida in Sept 2022. He holds Professional Engineering licensure in FL, GA, NC, TX, NV, AZ, and from his home state of CA, the license which he earned first in 2013. Nick is a US Air Force veteran and was a civil engineering officer for 4 years, with tours in the Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.
